Fiber is what alpacas are all about and GlimmerGlass Alpacas will be presenting a hands-on fiber workshop in the spring of 2007. We'll discuss the special properties of alpaca fiber and delve into preparation prior to sending to the mill to get the best possible product whether it's yarn or mittens or sweaters! We'll also spend some time learning how to card and comb your own fiber, use a drop spindle and try some felting! Make plans to join us for a fun fiber day! Registration will be limited so check back often!

Each year, GlimmerGlass Alpacas participates in a number of events that focus on fiber and alpacas. They include an educational symposium and fleece show sponsored by the Empire Alpaca Association as well as festivals that offer us an opportunity to introduce the public to alpacas and the wonderful products that can be made from their fleece. In addition, we are planning to host our own seminar in the spring of 2007 that will introduce alpaca breeders to the many ways that alpaca fiber can be used in fiber art! This will be a fun-filled hands on workshop for folks with all (or no) levels of skill. More information will be available early in 2007. Plan to join us!
